Welcome to the eighth post in our in-depth series about the different features in TextAid.
This week, we’ll have a look at the literacy support features in TextAid. Watch our quick video to get a feel for this tool.
The literacy tools can be found under the icon . The screen mask and reading ruler tools both have the same function: to allow the reader to focus on a specific portion of the text. The screen masking tool can be accessed via this icon . The tool masks the entire page, making it darker, except for a horizontal bar that the reader can move up and down to follow along with the tekst.
The reading ruler, accessed via the icon , works along the same principles, only instead of masking the page, the reading ruler is a horizontal grey bar that the reader can move down the page, line by line. This way, the specific line that is being read comes more easily into focus.
ReadSpeaker TextAid also features a calculator, accessed via the icon , which can be speech-enabled as well. Select the box by ‘Enable speech’.
Use these literacy tools to make your TextAid experience as beneficial as possible.
